Event Breakdown

A successful event depends on more than a great idea — it requires a solid structure.

A well-designed programme keeps people engaged, ensures good timing, and reflects the event’s goals. As the reader explains, it’s one of the seven core elements in event organisation: Program Setup.

In this assignment, you’ll take a close look at two real event programmes. One is provided for you. The other, you’ll find yourself. You’ll analyse both using the same set of questions — and compare your conclusions.

Why this assignment matters
An event programme tells you a lot: what happens when, who is involved, and how it’s all paced. But it also reveals how well the event is planned — and whether it actually speaks to its target audience.

By analysing and comparing two different events, you’ll sharpen your eye for structure, content, timing and tone — and start building your own insight into what makes an event work.
